Table Mountain, the wild, African nature and dream beaches – if you think of Cape Town Holidays, you immediately have a thousand images in your head. My expectations before the holiday were accordingly very high. Many times I had too many expectations and unfortunately was a bit disappointed. This time, my expectations were not met again, but this is not meant to be negative, but it’s just that Cape Town Holidaysis a thousand times more beautiful than I would ever have dreamed.
Already on the approach to Cape Town, I was taken by this country. There’s something for everyone here. As diverse as the South African population is so diverse are the possible activities in South Africa. This time, I found it hard to choose my 7 most beautiful and exciting places because this region is packed with adventurous dreams and goosebumps moments.

Cape Town Attractions
Visit the V & A Waterfront
The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is located
right in the heart of the historic harbor of Cape Town. Sooner or later, every
Cape Town visitor lands here. In addition to countless shopping options, the
historic area also houses the city’s best seafood restaurants and hip shops of
the South African art scene. Furthermore, here you have an incredible view of
the Table Mountain massif.
Climb the Table Mountain
This striking massif is undoubtedly one of the most popular destinations in the region. It is an absolute must for every Cape Town traveler. There are two ways to climb the mountain. For sporty people, there are many different hiking routes and so you are in less than 3 hours on foot at the summit. There is also the possibility to take the cable car up to Table Mountain – and thanks to the rotating gondola you have a breathtaking view over the whole city from every position. On the plateau of Table Mountain, you have the opportunity to make the perfect tour between countless circular routes.
A romantic walk in Kirstenbosch
Directly on the eastern slope of Table Mountain is the Botanical
Garden Kirstenbosch. Due to the special microclimate, this region, directly
behind Table Mountain, provides an optimal livelihood for plants of all kinds.
With its 36 hectares, it is not only one of the largest but also one of the
most beautiful botanical gardens in the world. The park not only attracts plant
lovers but also romantics and peace seekers. During the summer season, outdoor
concerts regularly take place on the grounds.
Cape Town Beaches
Explore the diverse beach life
If you accidentally leaf through a spring/summer fashion catalog, it may be easy for these shots to come from Cape Townbeach. Not only because of the perfect light but also because of the immense beauty of the beaches, the fashion and advertising industry have come to know and love Cape Town. Camps Bay and Clifton Bay are the two most famous beaches in the city. From the latter, you have the most beautiful view of the Twelve Apostles.
Because of this panorama and the mixture of fine restaurants and boutique hotels, Camps Bay is one of the most expensive corners of the city. If you do not want to spend a lot of money on beach accommodation, the Sea Point Area is the best area for you. Within 5 minutes you can reach both Camps Bay and Clifton Bay, and with Uber – which is unbelievably popular in South Africa – the round trip costs only about 4 € per car.
Visit penguins in Simon’s Town
About 40 kilometers south of the center of Cape Town Holidays is the fishing village of Simon’s Town. Built-in Victorian style, this cute little town is world-famous for its, say, small inhabitants. In addition to the 6,500 inhabitants, there are also 2,500 African penguins living there. The sweet little fellows are mostly on granite-strewn Boulders Beach. Although this beach section is a protected national park, it can be reached via the visitor center.
Drive along ‘Chapmans Peak Drive’
Although this famous coastal road is only 9 kilometers long, the 114 bends and breathtaking views make it one of the most beautiful stretches of road in the world. From Hout Bay, it goes from there over the Chapmans Peak – a 160-meter high observation road – in the fishing village Noordhoek. Not only motor lovers, but also free spirits and adventurers will love this unique, maritime street!
Cape Town Hiking
Take a morning hike to Lions Hill
Cape Town Holidays : The Lions Head is next to Table Mountain one of the local mountains of Cape Town. Although it is not the highest mountain in the region with its height of 670 meters, it is the most spectacular for me because of its 360 ° view. Especially at dusk and sunrise in the morning, he is the most beautiful.
We decided on the morning variant. Thankfully, it’s easy to get to the parking lot near Signal Hill, which is the starting point of every Lions Hill hike. The climb takes about 1.5 hours. The main hiking route is very well labeled but it is also worth mentioning that at the end of the ascent a small climbing part is included. For this, you do not have to be an alpine mountain fox, but you need sturdy shoes and you should not be afraid of heights. It will be worth the effort, as the summit offers fabulous views of the city center, Table Mountain, Camps & Clifton Bay and you can even spot Robben Island on the horizon. My absolute favorite moment!
